"When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother
would say to me, 'Look for the helpers. You will always find people who
are helping.' To this day, especially in
times of 'disaster,' I remember my mother’s words, and I am always
comforted by realizing that there are still so many helpers - so many
caring people in this world."

What happened yesterday in Newtown, Connecticut was absolutely, unbelievably tragic.
My heart physically aches for those families... there are no words.
My heart physically aches for those families... there are no words.
All I can think of right now is my "babies," all of my preschool students I taught over the course of four years while in college. While students are in your care, they become your children... you'd do anything to protect them, putting yourself in the line of fire to prevent them from any pain. That's what six brave educators did yesterday. The fact that all of those practice lockdowns became a worst-case reality for Sandy Hook Elementary yesterday kills me.
This cannot possibly be the world we live in.
This cannot possibly be the world we live in.
Humanity is hurting right now... the world needs to be healed.
It begins in our own communities. Right here, right now.
Pray for a change, but also take action.
Treat people well. Raise children to love one another. Reach out to others.
Goodness breeds goodness.
